Individual Needs Assistant Vacancy
START DATE: 29/09/2025 - (Possibly earlier subject to the return of satisfactory checks)
TYPE: Permanent
SALARY: Scale 5, pay point 13-17, dependant on experience – Actual Annual Gross Salary = £22,530.39
HOURS: 32.50 hours per week, 6.5 hours per day - 5 days per week - 8.30am-3.30pm, term time only.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, caring and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, working with children with EHCPs (Education, Health & Care Plans) due to significant ASC, ADHD or attachment needs. You will be required to support learning in class, in small group interventions and/or on a one-to-one basis as necessary. You should be flexible, resourceful and willing to support the inclusive ethos of our school. This role also includes lunchtime support.
CRITERIA
The successful candidate will need:
- The ability to relate well to young children, with confidence and a calm manner in order to build good relationships
- Ability to establish and develop effective and supportive 1:1 relationships with children
- Experience in supporting children using programmes designed to encourage progress in reading, writing or maths
- Ability to work independently to deliver specific learning programmes with support and guidance both in school and from the Brighton and Hove Inclusion Support Service (BHISS)
- Ability and skills to encourage the pupils to interact and engage in activities led by class teachers
- Ability to support children in managing their social, emotional and mental health needs and presenting behaviours using strategies suggested by the BHISS team and the school

FOUNDATION GOVERNOR VACANCY

What do Foundation Governors do?
School Governors have a varied and important role in helping the school run effectively. This includes planning the strategic direction of the school and overseeing the financial performance, working alongside the school leadership team to drive school improvement.
In addition, Foundation Governors specifically represent the interests of the Diocese by supporting and promoting the Christian ethos of the school.
Our current vacancy
We are looking for a Foundation Governor to join our Governing Body. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who shares our passion for improving education for children in our community. Prior experience in an education setting would be helpful but it is not a mandatory requirement. You will be provided with an induction and training programme. Governors are expected to attend termly Full Governing Body meetings (typically 2-3 hours in the evenings), termly Committee meetings (typically 2 hours in the afternoon) and to undertake termly monitoring visits (typically 3 hours in the afternoon).

We teach 420 pupils, aged between 4 and 11.
