Jobs & Recruitment

Jobs At St Nicolas
From time to time we will advertise roles for which we are recruiting, usually through the Brighton & Hove council  jobs bulletin. This page has information which may be of interest to potential candidates.

Safeguarding
The first priority of our recruitment is that we only appoint safe adults to work with our children. Additionally, it is important that every member of staff shares our vision and values. We want to make sure you are the right candidate for us but also that we are the right school for you.

Self-Disclosure Form

Any criminal offences will have been declared in the application form. Please bring your completed 'self-disclosure' form in a sealed envelope on the day of interview. The envelope should be marked 'Confidential Self-Disclosure Form' and have your name on it. Your envelope will only be opened once you have received a conditional offer. If your application is unsuccessful the envelope will be shredded unopened.

References
We normally ask for two references which should include the most recent job where you were working with children. We need to get a picture over a period of at least 5 years so if you have been employed in several short term jobs, for instance in several maternity covers, we will normally ask for more than the minimum of 2.
Interview
You will be asked to bring proof of identity to interview. This could be a photo ID such as a passport, drivers licence or school ID badge.
